There are so many fun activities and events surrounding the holidays, which makes it the best time of year to start new holiday traditions. Growing up, my family had and still has many traditions surrounding Christmas, and I always look forward to them each year. Now that I’m married, I still get to continue some of these traditions when I visit my family for Christmas, while others I’ve continued on just with my husband. Looking back, I don’t always remember the gifts I received, but I do remember the special memories that were created surrounding these traditions. Here are some old and new holiday traditions from my family to yours:
Today’s gift guide is all about personalized gifts that are unique, thoughtful, and often one of a kind. I love giving and receiving personalized gifts because it shows that the gift was carefully chosen and often has a special meaning. If you want to step up your gift game this year or if you are looking for a gift for that person who has everything, try a personalized gift. There are many options in all different price ranges, so that you are sure to find something for everyone on your list!
As a follow up to my gift guide for him (under $100), I have created a gift guide for her. All the gifts are also under $100. The amount of money spent on holiday gift shopping can add up quickly, so I wanted to stay with this under $100 budget to show you that there are plenty of great gift options that don’t break the bank. These items range from makeup products to electronics and home goods, so you are sure to find something for every lady in your life!
Back in October, I shared how to easily decorate your home for fall. Today, I wanted to show how to transition and update the same fall décor for the holidays. Instead of just including images of the new holiday decor, I decided to also add images of the fall decor, so you can visually see the decorating process. This also helps to show what pieces are reused, and what items get updated for the season. Christmas is a magical time of year and brings out my favorite decorations!
Christmas is less than a month away, so it’s time to start your holiday shopping. To help you out, I’ve prepared a gift guide for guys, with gifts your husband, dad, brother, grandpa, uncle, cousin, or friend would love (and any other men in your life)! Steven owns a few of these items, so they have been tested and approved by him. Best of all, all of these gifts are affordable and under $100!

Yes, I know it’s not even Thanksgiving yet, but it’s never too early to start thinking about Christmas gifts. The holiday season always sneaks up on me, and before I know it, I’m rushing to do last minute gift shopping! This year, I’m getting ahead of the game and have compiled a list of $25 and under stocking stuffers that are perfect for the ladies in your life. Stocking stuffers can add up quickly, so I wanted to find items that are useful and luxurious, while still being affordable. All of these items feel like small gifts (and not fillers), and could even serve as gifts for friends, family, and secret Santa parties!
Growing up, my mom would use butter, Parmesan, and breadcrumbs to make chicken tenders. We would coat the chicken with melted butter, and roll it in a mixture of breadcrumbs and Parmesan before baking. As a lover of chicken nuggets, this dish was so yummy and equally fun to make! The recipe I’m sharing with you today is a tropical twist on this childhood favorite. It uses a coconut topping to make chicken nuggets that are crispy, sweet, and packed with flavor. This dish has become a staple in my home and has surprisingly replaced piña coladas as my number one coconut recipe!
After five years of living in Seattle, I’m finally adjusting to the idea of warmer winters, and realizing I don’t need to be as bundled up as I would be in Connecticut. Normally this time of year, I’d be stocking up on chunky, knit sweaters, but this season, I find myself gravitating towards skirts. This faux leather skirt caught my eye a month ago online, and after seeing it in store, I had to have it. The pleated style gives the skirt a fun, flirty feel, and the faux leather is the perfect material for fall and winter!
